Quick Start Guide

Description

Click & Theme gives any website a new look in one click. Pick a ready-made theme, make text bigger and easier to read, or describe your own look and let AI style the part of the page you pick. Your choice comes back every time you visit. It's free, has no ads and needs no account.

Getting Started

Install Click & Theme from the Chrome Web Store
Open any website and click the Click & Theme icon in your toolbar
Tap a theme to preview it right on the page
Press Apply. The theme comes back every time you visit that site

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Is Click & Theme free? A: Yes. No ads, no account, no tracking.

Q: Does Click & Theme work on all websites? A: It works on most websites. Chrome blocks extensions on browser pages (chrome://, about:) and the Chrome Web Store.

Q: Will Click & Theme slow down my browsing? A: No. Themes are plain stylesheets applied locally as the page loads.

Q: Do my styles survive a reinstall or a new computer? A: Save a backup file from the My sites page, then use Restore from file.

Tap to preview, Apply to keep. Choose "Also on all of this domain" to cover subdomains
At night (7pm–7am): pick a second theme used when a page loads at night. Applying a different theme during these hours updates the night choice and keeps your daytime theme.

Reading comfort

Larger text, airier lines and a comfortable line width
Focus mode for ChatGPT hides the sidebar and keeps just the conversation
Readability fix: if a theme makes text hard to read, it is fixed automatically

AI Styling

Press "AI Styling" and click any part of the page
Describe the look, or tap an idea such as "dark mode"
Press "Generate Style"
Check the preview, then Save, Try again or Discard

Tip: if nothing seems to change, be more specific about where, e.g. "dark mode for the text box" instead of "dark mode". Recent AI results lets you go back to an earlier result.

Keyboard shortcuts

Alt+Shift+T: turn this site's style on or off
Alt+Shift+N: switch this site to the next theme
Change them at chrome://extensions/shortcuts

See every styled site and remove the ones you no longer want
Set one theme on every site
Save a backup file and restore it later

Edit CSS (advanced)

View and edit the CSS of any style, then save it

Common Issues and Solutions

Style not applying

Reload the page
Check the site's style is on (Alt+Shift+T toggles it)
Open My sites and confirm the site is listed
Disable other extensions that change page styles

AI Styling not working

Check your internet connection
Pick a smaller area and describe it more specifically
Wait a few seconds and press Try again

Error messages

Message	Meaning	What to do
"Failed to generate style"	The AI request failed	Press Try again or change the description
"Please select an area first"	No part of the page is picked	Press "AI Styling" and click part of the page

Privacy & Data

Styles and settings are stored in your browser
Themes, Reading comfort, Focus mode, shortcuts and the CSS editor send no data
AI Styling sends only the layout and colors of the area you pick, never its text, plus your description. See the privacy policy
